KK's KOKODA TRACK ITINERARY

DAY 1: Fly to Port Moresby from point of departure. Overnight The Gateway Hotel
Briefing after Dinner (at own expense). Buffet Breakfast the following morning included in our Package.
DAY 2: Fly to Kokoda by charter aircraft earliest posssible a.m.
Activities at Kokoda incl. tours of battle sites, memorials and HT Kienzle Museum.
Plantation visit and white water gummying( car tubes) optional
Traditional welcome Kokoda.
First night at Kokoda Oro Haven
DAY 3: Up early for first day on the Trail.
Walk to Isurava Village. Approx 7 hours, hard going.
Overnight Isurava Village
DAY 4: Visit Isurava Memorial - short memorial service held here.
Trek to Eora Creek camp. Arduous day also. Battle sites enroute.
Overnight Eora Ck camp - warm gear needed
DAY 5: Third day on the Trail. Up early again
Pass through Templeton's Crossing, named by Bert Kienzle
Explanation of original War Trail and pre-war mail trail routes.
Overnight Dump One/Station One
DAY 6: Fourth day on Trail.
Short but quite difficult day's walk to Myola Lake #2,
Climb up out of Eora Ck valley to the highest point on the Trail
and the ridge of Mt Bellamy. Continuing to follow Bert Kienzle's track from
Templeton's Crossing to Myola, through moss forests, out onto the
breathtaking open space of the dry lake named by Bert

DAY 7: Fifth day on the Trail - the longest day of the trek
Myola to Efogi - for food resupply .
Past Myola #1, break out into Kagi Gap on down to Naduli
Over to Efogi 1
Overnight Efogi 2
DAY 8: Efogi 2 to Ugo Logo
Up Mission Ridge, see where Japanese lantern parade took place
Full, moving history presentation at Brigade Hill
Pass through Menari, over The Wall to a beautiful campsite by the creek
Nights not so cold from here on.

DAY 9: From Ugo Logo , head to Ofi Creek
On the way,cross the Brown River up over the
9 false peaks of the Maguli Range
passing through Nauro village and Dump 88
Overnight Ofi Creek
DAY 10: Eighth day. Big day's walk from Ofi Creek to the Goldie River Camp
Pass over Ioribaiwa Ridge , the furthest point of the Japanese advance
Criss-crossing Ua-ule Creek about a dozen times,
Past Dump 44 up over Imita Ridge, pointing out The Golden Stairs
on through Dump 66.
Overnight Moresby side of Goldie River, last night on the Trail
DAY 11: Relaxing day. Time to wash tents, tent pegs etc
Leisurely paced climb up to Ower's Corner
THROUGH THE ARCHES - the end of the Trail.
Time to reflect on the experience of lifetime, before calling in to
Bomana War Cemetery en route to Port Moresby.
Overnight Hotel POM. Debriefing & presentation of Certificates over dinner.
Celebratory Buffet Dinner (at own expense )
DAY 12: Transfer to POM airport for morning flight home after Complementary Buffet Breakfast
